Watch the speech that inspired Life Beyond Labels.
Kelsey speaking to an audience of 400+ at OU Leaders Summit 2024.
Everyone has labels, whether it be external titles, roles, jobs, or internal limits we place on ourselves. Kelsey challenges audiences to lead from who they are, beyond what they do, embracing success and leadership as reflections of character, values, and intentional choices. Life Beyond Labels is not about giving up goals or lowering standards. It is about making them stronger by starting with identity.
Kelsey shares her journey from being a Division I student-athlete to rebuilding her entire identity after a career-ending injury. When the labels that once defined her were taken away, she commited to rebuilding her identity by starting with how she saw and described other people. She began focusing on Three Pillars: 1) Attitude, 2) How we treat others, and 3) What makes us unique. This mindset led to a true transformation and reclaiming purpose and joy. This framework resonated globally in 2023 through her viral graduation speech, reaching over 70 million views across 27+ countries.
Grounded in her education in performance psychology and social work, Kelsey blends storytelling with actionable tools to help audiences navigate change, build resilience, and ground their identity in who they are, so they can live and lead beyond labels. This keynote has resonated across national champion athletic teams, major corporations, non profits, and schools because it speaks to a universal need: to feel seen, valued, and empowered to lead from who we are, not just what we do.
Kelsey delivers interactive workshops that help teams, groups, and organizations connect, collaborate, and lead with purpose. Participants gain practical tools to strengthen communication, build trust, and foster a shared sense of identity and values. Whether working with teams, companies, educators, or students, Kelsey creates an engaging experience that leaves a lasting impact on both individuals and the group as a whole.

The first time I gave my life to Jesus, it was one, significant moment. God aligned all of the stars and made my dreams come true after I trusted Him, so I thought that I would blissfully live the rest of my life with unwavering faith. Until I lost my community, identity, and sport after suffering a traumatic brain injury. As I struggled to figure out what it all meant, I reconnected with God a second time - separate from circumstance. I hope to share this authentic testimony of faith and how to keep trusting God even when it feels like He is so far away.
The inspiration behind my original speech and discussion of identity is my faith in Jesus. Each and every opportunity I get to share the story He have me is a gift an a blessing. Seeing myself, and others, beyond labels came from feeling God’s love immensely during a time when I had no performance to offer. Because my main keynote is fully inspired by my faith, it can be delivered in a way that keeps faith at the center of the talk.
