We all have external labels that define us: job titles, achievements and roles… but what happens when life changes the identity you’ve always known? What if those titles were stripped away? How do we find purpose and fulfillment outside of how productive we are or the roles we fill?
In a world that often defines us by what we do, Life Beyond Labels is a powerful reminder that identity runs deeper. Kelsey shares her transformative journey from Division I athlete to rebuilding her sense of self after a career-ending head injury. Her viral graduation speech inspired millions, but the real story lies in how she found steady ground in the middle of life’s biggest storm.
This keynote challenges audiences to rethink success—not as a title or achievement, but as a reflection of who you are at your core. Through raw storytelling and practical takeaways, Kelsey reveals how to:
Ground your identity in who you are, not what you do.
Pivot with purpose when life brings unexpected change
Thrive through adversity by anchoring to your character, not your circumstances
Own your power to choose who you are, and how that shapes your future
Whether you're guiding athletes, students, leading teams, or navigating your own transitions, this message equips audiences to find resilience, redefine identity, and turn setbacks into launching pads.

Expanding on the core themes of Life Beyond Labels, this keynote delves deeper into the true essence of resilience. We all encounter adversity and moments that call us to rise above. Think & Do pays homage to the mantra of Kelsey’s alma mater, NC State, but she believes resilience requires an additional, crucial element: becoming. Inspire your team with actionable steps to transform adversity into opportunity—how we think about our challenges, what we do to overcome them, and who we become in the process.
Changes and challenges are inevitable in business, school, athletics, and life. The way we choose to view and work through these challenges plays a pivotal role in our ability to overcome them. This talk is perfect for those looking to inspire resilience and empower their teams and organizations to be ready to face whatever comes their way.
Kelsey has brought her insights on leadership and resilience to OU Leadership Conference, Global Leadership Trainings, Best Buddies International Leadership Conference, and leaders across industries.
As Kelsey is near the end of her academic journey in pursuing a Master of Social Work degree and Mental Performance Certification, she hopes to combine her expertise with experience by explaining why mental health and performance go hand-in-hand. By discussing the bridge between mental health and performance, individuals and organizations can benefit from applicable practices and stragies that promote a culture of winning AND wellness.

Kelsey speaking about Anti-bullying and Character to 500+ high school students.
When we talk about bullying, instead of focusing on what not to do, why not share an example of someone with exceptional character, who spoke up and stood out when it mattered? If we want to encourage others to change direction, we have to offer a new direction to go.
In this talk, Kelsey gets vulnerable about a time when she faced bullying from her softball program, but her teammate, TJ stood up for her during one of the most difficult times of her life.
This talk highlights the importance of standing up for others even when it’s uncomfortable, staying true to ourselves, and doing the right thing even when it is hard. For more information on this talk, please book a discovery call.
The first time I gave my life to Jesus, it was one, significant moment. God aligned all of the stars and made my dreams come true after I trusted Him, so I thought that I would blissfully live the rest of my life with unwavering faith. Until I lost my community, identity, and sport after suffering a traumatic brain injury. As I struggled to figure out what it all meant, I reconnected with God a second time - separate from circumstance. I hope to share this authentic testimony of faith and how to keep trusting God even when it feels like He is so far away.
The inspiration behind my original speech and discussion of identity is my faith in Jesus. Each and every opportunity I get to share the story He have me is a gift an a blessing. Seeing myself, and others, beyond labels came from feeling God’s love immensely during a time when I had no performance to offer. Because my main keynote is fully inspired by my faith, it can be delivered in a way that keeps faith at the center of the talk.
