The original commencement speech at NC State University that captured hearts & minds alike by reminding us to consider how we define people and whether it is better to do with the titles they possess or the characteristics they embody.
Kelsey’s speaks with 8x National Champion University of Oklahoma Women’s Softball team.
What happens when life changes the identity you’ve always known? What defines us when our titles and roles are stripped away? In Life Beyond Labels, Kelsey shares her transformational story of resilience—from her identity as a D1 college athlete, through the challenges of a life-altering head injury, to rebuilding her self-worth and inspiring others with a viral graduation speech.
Through heartfelt storytelling and actionable insights, Kelsey introduces three meaningful ways to describe ourselves and others: by our attitude, how we treat others, and our unique qualities. These principles form a resolution to live authentically, connect deeply, and celebrate the intrinsic value in ourselves and those around us.
This keynote will inspire you and your team to embrace your stories, live with intention, and redefine success—not by what you do, but by who you are. Perfect for businesses, organizations, and events looking to foster a culture of authenticity and meaningful connection.
Building on the core themes of Life Beyond Labels, this keynote explores what it means to lead authentically in today’s world. Drawing from her experience as an athlete, Kelsey understands that results are essential for successful teams. However, she believes that authentic leadership, strong culture, and achieving great results go hand in hand—and she explains why this perspective is key to thriving organizations.
Leadership is about creating safe spaces for innovation, empowering others to grow, and recognizing the unique value of every individual. By leading with empathy, self-awareness, and authenticity, leaders can inspire both exceptional performance and a thriving team culture.
Kelsey has brought her insights to the Best Buddies International Leadership Conference, Global Leadership Trainings, and leaders across industries, leaving audiences inspired to redefine their leadership approach.

The first time I gave my life to Jesus, it was one, significant moment. God aligned all of the stars and made my dreams come true after I trusted Him, so I thought that I would blissfully live the rest of my life with unwavering faith. Until I lost my community, identity, and sport after suffering a traumatic brain injury. As I struggled to figure out what it all meant, I reconnected with God a second time - separate from circumstance. I hope to share this authentic testimony of faith and how to keep trusting God even when it feels like He is so far away.
The inspiration behind my original speech and discussion of identity is my faith in Jesus. Each and every opportunity I get to share the story He have me is a gift an a blessing. Seeing myself, and others, beyond labels came from feeling God’s love immensely during a time when I had no performance to offer. Because my main keynote is fully inspired by my faith, it can be delivered in a way that keeps faith at the center of the talk.
